Along the Canal de l’Ourcq

The Canal de l’Ourcq, dug under Napoleon to supply Paris with water, runs along the north of Bobigny towards Bondy and Pantin. A wide pedestrian and cycle path hugs its banks, dotted with barges, artists’ studios and seasonal riverside cafés. Meeting here by bike or for an afternoon walk is one of the best ways to see the Seine-Saint-Denis at its gentlest and greenest.

Bergère Park, a green lung

Between the canal and the town, Bergère Park unfolds more than twenty hectares of green spaces, lawns, pools and small artificial hills. People come for a picnic, to run, sit in the sun or admire the artworks scattered among the paths. Families cross paths with evening joggers and couples wandering around the main pond. The perfect spot for a relaxed first date with no fixed programme.

Towards Pantin and Paris

From Bobigny, just follow the canal westwards to reach Pantin and soon Paris, past the converted Grands Moulins. To the south, metro line 5 goes directly to the Canal Saint-Martin and Bastille. On Lyad, members from Bobigny share their favourite spots along the water; it is up to you to find someone to hop on a bike with for a sunny ride.
